Two for the Price of One
Hey, lil' dude! You made two NBF this week! (new best friends, if you didn't know) Your very own hands. And you have two of them. You'll stare at them for hours. I wonder if the folks at daycare think you're special yet? You also love to thrust NBF 1 and NBF 2 in Daddy's and I's faces as if to say, "look, there are two of them. Look at them both," and it's so so sweet. You take them with you as you have your nightly baths, they like the bubbles as much as you do. You tried letting your NBF hold your giraffe teether, but that didn't work out so well. You looked at ME as if I were the culprit for smacking your forehead with the giraffe, yes, I know it hurts! But it was those NBF's of yours . . . they might be trouble, wrong crowd, that type of thing. I forgot to mention how hard it was for your Mama to break the news of your NBF's to your OBF (old best friend). I did it as gently as I could. I looked solemnly into the bulb of each and every lamp we have in the house, and told them straight up: you've been replaced. Because, lil' dude, you once had a thing for lamps, they totally mezmorized you. Anyways, that's in your past. Here's to you and your NBF's and a continued joy of found objects.
