Heart

“The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.” - Jalal ad-Din Rumi, Persian Poet

Magical

Today, our little family is embarking on one of life's sweetest trips ...

I'll give you a little hint.

We're having breakfast with Cinderella tomorrow.

CINDERELLA!

Sorry Mom!

The lil' dude and I hit Walmart Saturday for some groceries. Somehow, I managed to talk her into sitting in the cart like the old days. I was talking out loud, crossing things off my list when I got to Lysol wipes.

"Wipes", I said, tossing them into the cart.

Those are for wiping the poop off my butt! The lil' dude HOLLERED at the near-top of her lungs.

"Lil' dude! Shhhh. No." I said to her.

OH! Sorry Mom. Those are for wiping the poop off my BOTTOM
! she said even louder.

Even louder! That's my girl.
Just like her Mama.
She made three aisles of Walmarters laugh on a cold winter morning. Could be worse.

Seven on Seven

This month you continue to be a creature of habit wearing your favorite Jordan sweats as much as possible. You and your Dad both ...

We slowly introduce your birthday and Christmas toys throughout the long winter months. This month, your tent from your Fairy Godmother has been your favorite.

You and the Beagle both have some serious spring fever going on. You ask everyday if the snow is off the sidewalks yet so you can ride your scooter. The answer is still, sadly, no.

Even if the weather is less than desirable, our mornings in the car are some of the most beautiful ever. I always ask you what the sky looks like, and you answer with Syracuse, spaghetti, or pink balloons.

You still delight in baths, and they always calm you down if you're upset. You have fizzy drop-ins that change the color of the water!

We combat the winter blues by eating loads of fresh fruit. You love pineapple.

We played 'Toy Story 3' Memory but it didn't last long. You don't understand the rules of fair play just yet!

Winner, Winner

It's no secret your Daddy loves to bet on sports ... so when he signed the ENTIRE family up for the Super Bowl board at work, I couldn't help but smile when I saw my three-year-old's name amongst all the adults. How appropriate.

Tonight's game featured the team we love to hate, the Green Bay Packers. Our entire state, minus a defector here and there, loathes the team in green. Your Manny, however, is a HUGE fan, something we like to rib him about constantly. He even gave you temporary Packer tattoos for Christmas! (that got lost ... somewhere)

In the end, the arch nemesis prevailed ...

And you, my little gambler's daughter, came out $100 richer.

So the day wasn't a complete loss.

There's always next season ...

When Papas Text

You spent last weekend at Papa and Grandma G's. You had them all to yourselves, and visa-versa, for three whole days! Papa learned how to text last summer, so subtly checking on you when you're away has never been easier.

Papa: "I CAN'T HEAR" ... Grandma G and I are talking too loud so SOMEONE can't hear 'Bolt'!
Papa: Oops too loud.

LDM: Tell lil' dude good morning! It's game day! Go big Orange!
Papa: She just got us out of bed, and only one of three of us are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

Papa: Lil' dude was looking at your graduation pic and she said, "that was when my Mommy was new."
LDM: Tell her not to judge me for the eyebrows in that pic. I didn't know any better.

Papa: Grandma G. told lil' dude she was too literal ... her response was ... 'I'm not little, I'm a big girl!'

Papa: Lil' dude is back at home.
LDM: Where are you?
Papa: Your house.
LDM: That was a joke. How's my girl?
Papa: Very good. Anxious to make cupcakes when you get home.
LDM: I'd prefer cupcakes to be waiting for me!
Papa: MMMMM, Grain Belt Nord'East.
LDM: Drinking while baking? Not smart.
Papa: We are getting stewed, not baking.

LDM: We'll be home at 7:15. You guys going to eat?
Papa: We've been snacking.

Papa: Lil' dude is having mac and cheese.
